Over 50 of the WCLM entrants drove in the WCLM Autocross at the Lake Tahoe Airport. With snow capped mountains and pine trees surrounding the site it was a scenic venue for a fun filled event.

Each entrant received 3 runs on a course that feature fast sweeping corners, tight 180s and slaloms that made the driver be precise.

Blasting out of the start box drivers were faced with a quick right-left box that immediately lead into a short slalom. Then it was onto a straight that allowed the Esprits to rocket off. At the far end of the course was a big sweeping righthander and then another straight.

Hard on the brakes into a 5 cone slalom that tested the agility and nimbleness of the car. A tight 180 followed and then a staggered straight that kept the hands busy. A rapid succession of two rights, a quick straight and then the final slalom into a very quick right-left into the finish.

The Esprits got into the high 40s, as did the Europas & Elans. The surprise was the new Elise. The new Lotus immediately put down a low 44 and then got faster with every run until it got into the low 42s. With each run a WCLMer was riding shotgun getting the ride of their lives! And, everytime the Elise came back to the grid there was another smiling passenger!
