For over 25 years the GGLC has been co-presenters (with the Fremont Touring Club) of The Toy Rallye. Over the years nearly a thousand toys have been collected and given to children of needy families in the Fremont-Newark-Union City area. Often the toy received is the only toy the child receives! The 2000 edition of this benefit rallye was another in this long string of successful events. 22 cars, represently nearly 50 participants enter on a semi-sunny December Sunday. The entrants came from around the Bay Area, and as far away as Rancho Cordova and Sacramento.

The GGLC was well represented by four cars! (We need to see more next year!!). Santa's GGLC helpers included - Tom Carney, Dave Anderson, Scott Hogben, Mike Schlicht, Lynn Greene, Joel Lipkin, Mike Ostrov and Daren Stone. These folks helped immensely by helping a checkpoints and tallying scores at the finish.
