You
asked for it and you got it. We've confirmed another track day at
Thunderhill for Tuesday, July 10. Tuesdays are a perfect opportunity
to play hooky from work and go out to drive fast. The April track
day went extremely well with too much track time for most people.
I know there were at least a few people who logged over 200 miles on the
track!
The
last event sold out and we ended up with a waiting list. If you want
to make sure you get in, enter early.
Format
will be similar to last time with 2 groups - open passing and restricted
passing. You'll be allowed to run in both groups if you like for
no extra charge. Total entries will be limited to 40 cars.
No
open wheel cars are allowed, and convertibles must have a roll bar. Targa-style
cars ie. Ferrari 308/355, Porsche 911 are OK but the roof should be in
place.
Cost
is $175/car for the first 25 entries. After that, cost will be $190.
If you have two or more drivers sharing the same car, add $50 for each
additional driver. If you want the standard Thunderhill lunch deal that
includes sandwich, drink, cookie and chips, add $7/meal.
Make
hotel reservations at the Golden Pheasant Inn in Willows (530) 934-4603
and say that you're with the Golden Gate Lotus Club to get the group's
discount.
Mail
in the registration form on page 4 and we'll see you at the track. |

I'll
be among the first to admit that the number of vehicles I presently own
(eight) slightly exceeds the parking available here at Stone Motorsports,
but I manage it well. In addition, I am friends with all our immediate
neighbors and none of them have ever complained about my cars.
Last week I was working
from home when I happened to look up, and standing at my front door was
an police officer. Disconcerting to say the least, however a quick scan
of the past weekend's activities gave me no reason for concern, so I went
out to see what he wanted.
There is a woman who lives
about a half down block the street from us. To protect her identity, let's
just call her the psychotic white-trash witch. Her house is a artful
blend consisting of a large boat, several mid 80's disposable cars in various
states of disrepair, a very stylish van conversion and sometimes a nice
big fifth wheel trailer, leveled and with power running out to it. I'd
be willing to bet there's at least a month's worth of Springer episodes
within those |
