The Golden Gate Lotus Club is pleased to announce another full season of Lotus Track Days in 2008! At least 4 GGLC Tracks Days are on the calendar to be held on 3 different tracks! Join the fun!

GGLC Track Days are designed to allow the Lotus and sports car enthusiast enjoy driving in controlled conditions without random traffic and law enforcement. GGLC Track Days are not races, but allow the driver to run at their pace and enjoy the capability of the car.

    		At a typical GGLC Track Day event drivers will have too much track time, liberal passing rules in the slower group, and unlimited (safe) passing in the faster group. Drivers with less than 6 track days experience will not be allowed in the faster group unless they get pre-approved by a GGLC official.

    There are some simple rules at GGLC Track Days.

  • Contact with anything is grounds for dismissal.
  • Drive within your skill and comfort level.
  • Pass only in designated passing zones.
  • Cars must pass a "Self-Tech". Learn about preparing your car. CAR PREP
  • Have FUN!

    • The GGLC Track Days are not a substitute for high speed driving instruction. For those new to track events and/or have limited experience driving at high speeds on track the GGLC suggests you consider gaining knowledge and track experience at any one of the many instructional track events or at a driving/racing school such as Jim Russell Bondurant or Skip Barber. Recommended are the Hooked on Driving track events which are geared for those new to track events. www.hookedondriving.com

    GGLC 2008 Track Day #3 - July 8, 2008 - Thunderhill Raceway

    Come join the Golden Gate Lotus Club for this open track event at Thunderhill Raceway on July 8, 2008.

    This event is not open to first time track drivers. You must have at least 2 prior track days experience, racing background, or completed a racing driver's school before you can enter this event. There are a number of track day organizations that are designed for training new drivers. Hooked On Driving is one group that we recommend for beginners to gain experience. There are others as well.

    You do not need to own a Lotus to attend this event. We run our events totally non-profit and you will not find a better price for a full day on the track. The price for this event is $145 for GGLC members, and $165 for non-members. Additional drivers sharing a car are $50. You can become a GGLC member for $25.

    This event will be divided into 3 different types of groups on track; Novice, Intermediate, Advanced. The Novice and Intermediate sessions will have passing restricted to certain areas. The Intermediate passing rules will be slightly more liberal than the Novice rules. The Advanced sessions are open passing.

    Each driver can sign up as either Novice/Intermediate or Intermediate/Advanced. Novice/Intermediate drivers will not be allowed in the Advanced sessions. Intermediate/Advanced drivers will not be allowed in the Novice sessions. If you sign up for a particular group and decide at the track that you are not comfortable, ask a GGLC official to switch groups and it will probably be no problem.

    This event will run rain or shine. Cancellations before 6/24/08 will receive a credit for a future GGLC Track Day. Cancellations after 6/24/08 will receive a credit only if the event sells out.

    We will not conduct a tech inspection on your car. You are soley responsible for the safety of your car.

    Open top cars must have a roll bar. Factory installed roll bars are OK. Open wheeled cars will be allowed in the open passing group.

    We will close registration at 60 cars. We suggest that you enter early to insure a spot.

    On-line registration system!
    The GGLC is using MotorsportReg.com for on-line registration. First register with MotorsportReg.com (no-cost procedure) and then register for the track day (you can pay using your credit card). When you click on the button below you be taken to the MotorsportReg.com registration page. Continue to the bottom of the page and click on the Registration button.

    GGLC MEMBERS: When you initially register with MotorsportReg.com you be asked to "Enter your membership number for the Golden Gate Lotus Club or N/A". Type in "N/A" in that field.

    You can also enter via mail. Print a copy of the entry form and follow the mailing instructions. There is a $10 handling fee for mail-in entries, be sure to add $10 to the listed entry fee.
