WCLM Lake Tahoe Tour & Picnic
Friday Tour - June 3, 2005 The Friday Tour departed from the Granlibakken Resort and followed the northern portion of Lake Tahoe and then climbed up Mt Rose and then into Reno.
Near the summit of the Mt Rose pass there was still lots of snow on the roadsides. The views were incredible with the lake on one side and then the vastness of the Nevada desert on the other.
The Tour continued to the Reno-Fernley Raceway and joined the Track Day participants for a wonderful BBQ lunch. After lunch a track tour was conducted and about 30 cars participated in the pace car session. Leaving the Track the Tour continued into Carson City and around the east shore of Lake Tahoe and returned to the Granlibakken. Saturday Tour - June 4, 2005 The Saturday Tour again left from the Granlibakken and headed south on the western side of Lake Tahoe. Passing through the area around Emerald Bay they were able to enjoy the views of the lake.
The Tour then stopped for lunch and then continued down to the Lake Tahoe Airport to watch the WCLM Autocross. Leaving the airport they picked a route that took them to Virgina City and ended the tour in Reno at the National Automobile Museum, site of the WCLM Banquet.
