GGLC/Club111 Practice Autocross
Sept 10, 2005 - Marina Airport

The GGLC shared the Sept 10th date with Club111 and the Lockheed Martin Sports Car Club.

43 drivers participated in the event with 17 coming from the GGLC. Elise participation was a very encouraging 14 drivers. The sole non-Elise Lotus driver was David Anderson, which begs the question: "WHERE ARE THE ESPRIT, EUROPA, SEVEN, ELAN DRIVERS!!!

Thanks go to Larry Bisares for arranging the day and from Lockheed Martin SCC, Stuart Calhoon for getting the equipment to the site.

HIGHLIGHTS
Top Time of Day

TTOD went to Lockheed member Shaikh who posted an amazing 40.729 in his nicely prepared Turbo Miata. His nearest rival, Matt was almost a second back with 41.663 and Stuart was only 0.026 of a second behind Matt for 3rd fastest. All 3 of these drivers were on DOT "R" type tires - soft compounds with little tread (DOT slicks).

The quickest of the street tired cars was GGLC/Club111 member Matt G. who showed everyone how to get it done by lowering his times from a 47.4 to an blazing run of 42.437! Well done Matt! And to really put the exclamation mark on Matt's accomplishment Matt's Elise is a base car with the ADO7's and not the stickier 048 Yokohamas which are fitted the Sports Pack optioned cars.

Alexander K at 42.548 was a tenth behind Matt in driving Larry B's Sports Pack Elise. Is it PC to go faster than the car's owner?

Michael S shadowed Alexander in his Titanium colored Elise at a 42.766 followed by Jason S in at 42.882.
