Friday begins at Seven Feathers when you'll pick-up your picnic lunch, then it will be time to make a choice.
Crater Lake Tour
You can choose to tour to Crater Lake at a more leisurely pace, by departing from the Seven Feathers Resort. This will
give you time to make a few more stops and see more of the lake. Or you join others by first going to the C&D Sawmill in
nearby Riddle, Oregon. After the Sawmill tour you can either join a group to a tour to Crater Lake or out to the Oregon
Coast. Both tours will end at the WCLM Riverside BBQ.
Sawmill Tour - This is a fantastic chance to see one of the largest working Sawmills in Oregon in action. From
the delivery of logs to de-barking, rough cutting to the production of lumber, it's a facinating and noisey process. Today's
Sawmills have become environmentally friendly, we'll see how they utilize every part of the log, leaving no waste. The bark
removed from a log is used for landscaping bark or mulch, the wood chips are used to make paper products, and the sawdust and
planer shavings are used to make pressed board products.
Oregon Coast Tour - A quick look at a map of southern Oregon you'll see the definition of "Lotus" roads along
the Oregon Coast! From lush evergreen forests, picturesque coastal scenery, rugged cliffs, impressive sand dunes and vast
sandy beaches await you along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, US Highway 101. The Oregon coast has it all from quiet coastal
towns where the loudest sounds you'll hear are waves on the shoreline and seagulls overhead to amazing to the Oregon National
Sand Dunes where loud sand buggies and ATVs blast over tall dunes.
Crater Lake Tour - Crater Lake has inspired people for hundreds of years. No place else on earth combines a deep,
pure lake, so blue in color; sheer surrounding cliffs, almost two thousand feet high; two picturesque islands; and a violent
volcanic past. It is a place of immeasurable beauty.
