WCLM Time Trials - Optional Event
Thursday, Oct 2nd
The 2008 WCLM Time Trials is an optional event on Thursday, Oct 2nd prior to check-in at the Seven Feathers Resort in
Canyonville, Oregon.
This is a WCLM first! This is medium speed event that pits a driver and their car against the clock. Only one car is
allowed on a permanent twisty track that puts a focus on the agility of the car and the skill of the driver. Cars are
divided into classes of similar potential. In the end it is superior driving skills that are rewarded by posting the lowest
time and wins the class. The WCLM Time Trial will feature various classes for Lotus on a course that will be fast, twisty
and fun!
Drivers will be required to wear helmets (Snell 85 or better, some loaners will be available) and seat belts.
All cars will be inspected for safety - tire/wheel condition, fluid leaks, suspension, steering and brakes.
Rules for the WCLM Time Trials will be the same as those used for Autocrossing. We suggest you check out the information on
preparing to Autocross at "Guide to
Autocrossing"
in the "Tech" section
on the GGLC website.
The optional WCLM Time Trials will take place at the Jackson County Sports Park in White City, Oregon. The track is the site
of similar events conducted by the Siskyou Sports Car Club. It is about 1 hour south of Canyonville Oregon. We suggest staying
near the track. There is a
La Quinta Inn about 1 mile from the track
The WCLM Time Trial is not a race. It is a closed course event that will allow you to enjoy your Lotus unencumbered
by traffic and law enforcement. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how your Lotus handles in
corners that you typically cannot safely attain on the street. Knowing your Lotus in these situations and knowing
how to respond as a driver will make you a safer and better driver.
Have FUN!
